Allianz appoints Iván de la Sota as its first Chief Business Transformation Officer
Iván de la Sota has been named as Allianz's first Chief Business Transformation Officer as the insurer focuses on building 'future-ready' business models.
Previously CEO of Allianz's Spanish division, de la Sota will take charge of a new Board of Management division that hopes to meet the growing demand for digital insurance and investment solutions.
The Spanish national has spent his entire working life with the company after joining in 1991. De la Sota was educated in Germany and the United Kingdom, completing an MBA in London.

"Iván de la Sota is a CEO with a proven track record in implementing fundamental changes in retail business models," said Allianz CEO Oliver Bäte.
"Additionally, he understands how to increase productivity and customer satisfaction while keeping employees engaged. He will be able to build on the strong foundation laid by Solmaz Altin, who as Chief Digital Officer implemented our Digital Agenda over the last two years."
The new Board of Management division will also be responsible for the European direct insurance companies, the global business line Allianz Partners, and for the Iberian and Latin American region.
Allianz has over 86mn customers in the insurance market and is also one of the world's largest investors.
