Tata Technologies opens new European Innovation and Development Centre
Engineering services giant Tata Technologies is opening a new European Innovation and Development Centre (EIDC) today in Warwick, UK.
The £20 million facility reflects Tata’s ongoing success across Europe, and will house the company’s engineering support services, two advanced engineering labs, and a state-of-the-art R&D centre to develop Tata’s capabilities across Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Machinery sectors. This facility will stand as the European headquarters and follows the creation of delivery centres in Paris and Gothenburg earlier this year.
Tata’s new EIDC will create an additional boost for the region in the form of 200 new STEM jobs for design engineers and programme managers at all levels. The company will utilise its relationships with local universities in employing new skilled staff; it has close ties with Coventry University which runs the Ada Lovelace scheme that supports women studying STEM topics. Tata also works with Warwick University and is looking to collaborate with Birmingham, Aston, and Loughborough universities as partners for recruitment and training.
The opening of the EIDC today will be marked with an opening event attended by Tata Technologies’ international leadership, representatives from local authorities, clients, community stakeholders and employees.
Mr. S. Ramadorai, Chairman of Tata Technologies, said: “It is an honour to officially inaugurate Tata Technologies’ new European Innovation and Development Centre here today. We are proud to have a world class facility to house UK’s best in class engineering talent and help global manufacturers design, validate and manufacture the products of the future.”
Warren Harris, Chief Executive of Tata Technologies, said: “The opening of the European Innovation and Development Centre today is a coming of age for Tata Technologies, showcasing our commitment and confidence in our UK operations for the long term. We’re especially happy to be creating more than 200 high quality jobs in the UK for qualified technicians and engineers.
“Our investment in the EIDC will ensure we continue to meet our UK and international clients’ evolving demands for innovation.”
