Profile: the new CEO of AAK, Johan Westman
AAK has appointed Johan Westman as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective no later than June 2018.
Westman replaces Arne Frank. who sadly passed away in July - but what makes Westman the right person to step into the role at the Danish oil and fats producer?
Johan Westman isn't lacking in the leadership experience he'll need to run AAK's billion-Euro business.
The 44-year-old Swede earned a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg before embarking on his career.
Westman spent eight years with management consultants Arthur D. Little before joining FinnvedenBulten as vice president of business development.

In 2008, he took charge of its FMS division before a year later taking on the top job by assuming the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer of the entire group.
By 2014, FinnvedenBulten had been acquired by Shiloh Industries and Westman was given the job of vice president Europe, a position he still holds today.
"This is a great honor for me and I am very excited to join AAK," said Westman in a statement released on Friday. "Under the leadership of the Group management, the company has seen strong sales and profit growth. Together we will continue this growth journey and take AAK to the next level."
Mikael Ekdahl, Chairman, added: "With the recruitment of Johan Westman we will have a CEO with broad industrial and international experience and I am confident that Johan will continue to develop AAK in the best possible way."
