Profile: Steve Collar, the new Chief Executive Officer of SES
SES, the multi-billion Euro mobile network operator, has named Steve Collar as its new President & CEO. Here we profile the company's new boss.
When he takes over as Chief Executive Officer in April, Steve Collar will complete his ascension through SES's ranks.
Collar first joined the company in April 2007 when he became a senior vice president for SES World Skies, a now defunct subsidiary that formed when SES Americom and SES New Skies merged.
In March 2011, he become CEO of the SES's O3B Networks division, a role he has held for the last seven years. O3B Networks is building a next-generation network combining the use of satellite and fiber.

A British national, Collar is a graduate of engineering from Brunel University London. Early in his career, he worked for EADS Atrium before taking on management roles at New Skies Satellites.
Collar said on his appointment: "I am excited to lead SES into its next phase of development, building on the achievements of 2017 and the foundations that have been laid.
"I thank the Board for their trust and support. Our focus will be on strong execution in the short term, continuing to roll out differentiated services to our customers, and staying focused on the long term delivery of our forward-looking strategy."
SES has also announced the reappointment of Andrew Browne as Chief Financial Officer, who will start at the same time as Collar.
