Total and Aston Martin renew global automotive partnership
Total, the world's fourth largest energy company, and leading automotive firm Aston Martin have announced the renewal of their global partnership until 2019.
"We’re very pleased to renew our partnership with Aston Martin," said Mathieu Soulas, Vice President Total Lubrifiants.
"Today, we continue to put our expertise and R&D know-how to work to supply lubricants and fuel perfectly suited to Aston Martin engines."
The partnership has been extended, having originally been signed in May 2016.
This will include Total's involvement in the development of the new Aston Martin Vantage GTE that will be used in the FIA World Endurance Championship, with Aston Martin previously having won the GTE Pro 2016, Le Mans 2017 in the GTE class and other racing competitions.
"Total Quartz engine oil played a decisive role in Aston Martin Racing’s success, improving the performances and reliability of our FIA WEC race results," said Simon Sproule, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd.
"We’re very pleased to see the partnership extended to our coupes and roadsters and our aftermarket services, so that Aston Martin customers continue to benefit from the technical advances we make on the track with our partner Total."
The two firms will also work together to develop lubricants specific to the carmaker's engines.
