Luxury goods firm Richemont appoints Jérôme Lambert as new CEO

Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods holding firm, has announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer.

The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Jérôme Lambert, will take the position with immediate effective.

“Jérôme’s new role sees him taking responsibility for the Group’s future growth at a time when consumer habits are changing significantly,” the company wrote in a press release.

“As we position the Group to meet these challenges, he will lead the development of strategic plans reflecting the long-term objectives and priorities established by the Board.”

Richemont also released its five months sales report, ending August this year. The figures show that the firm’s sales increased by 25% at constant exchange rates and 22% at actual exchange rates compared to the previous year.

The company’s sales hit €6.6bn (US$5.7bn) in the review period – led by the Asia Pacific region, the retail channel, and the Jewellery Maisons business.
