The Royal Family are key members in the British society, but how many of them are employed? Here are 10 royals either currently or formerly in work.

1: Prince Harry

Though currently unemployed, Prince Harry was a British Army soldier for many years, known as Captain Harry Wales. He then went on to a desk job as a staff officer before resigning and currently volunteers at an orphanage in Lesotho.

2: Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice worked at Sony Pictures as a coordinating producer before being forced to resign after her salary and professional details were leaked in a hack.

3: David Armstrong-Jones (Viscount Linley)

Viscount Linley is the son of Princess Margaret and nephew to Queen Elizabeth II. He is a furniture maker and chairman of the auction house Christies UK. He ran his own furniture and interior design business called Linley, before selling it in 2012.

4: Peter Phillips

Peter Phillips is the oldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and brother of Zara Phillips. He started his career in the auto industry, working for Jaguar and WilliamsF1 racing team. He then went on to work in management at the Royal Bank of Scotland before moving on to managing director at SEL UK.

5: Marie- Christine von Riebnitz (Princess Michael of Kent)

Marie-Christine is the daughter of German nobility and is married to Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent. She started her career as an interior designer and then went on to become a biographer and novelist.

6: Prince Joachim of Denmark

Prince Joachim started his career in the military reserves after studying agricultural economics. He then went on to gain experience in the shipping, oil and agriculture company A.P. Moller Maersk, before using his education to run his own farming and forestry operations.

7: Prince William

Prince William started his career as a RAF search and rescue pilot. After leaving he went on to take and pass his civilian pilot course and 999-response training to take up a role with the East Anglian Air Ambulance. He has said he will donate his salary to charity.

8: Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie is the daughter of Prince Andrew and currently works for an American company as a benefits auction manager at Paddle8, an online art and design auction house.

9: Princess Madeleine of Sweden

After moving to New York, Princess Madeleine started working for the World Childhood Foundation, founded by her mother.

10: Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece

Marie-Chantal owns her own designer children’s fashion label, which currently has five boutiques and is stocked at a number of luxury department stores, including Harrods and Saks Fifth Avenue.
